πŸƒ Fortuna High Cross Country Competes at First HDN League Meet

Wednesday, September 30, 2026 β€’ Rohner Park, Fortuna

The Fortuna High Cross Country team competed in the first Humboldt-Del Norte League (HDN) meet of the season on Wednesday, September 30, at Rohner Park in Fortuna, with both the boys and girls teams representing the Huskies on their home course.

Runners from across the league gathered to compete on the trails of Rohner Park, navigating the course’s hills and wooded surroundings.

The Fortuna Huskies turned in a strong showing, with Juan Ornelas leading Fortuna’s runners with an impressive second-place finish. His performance highlighted a great day of competition for the team as they continued building momentum early in the season.

Both the boys and girls teams took on the course, pushing themselves against league competition while supporting their teammates along the way.

Cross country takes endurance, determination, and plenty of mental toughness, and the Fortuna High runners showed all three as they represented their school in front of the hometown crowd.

πŸ’™πŸ€ Great running, Huskies! Keep it going this season! 🐾
