💃 Fortuna High Folklórico Club Performs at Arcata I Block Party

September 7, 2026 • Arcata, California

The Fortuna High Folklórico Club brought traditional dance, music, and culture to Arcata on September 7 with a special performance at the I Block Party, a community celebration of culture, community, and the spirit of Sanctuary Day.

The event also served as a benefit for Centro del Pueblo, bringing people together for an afternoon of performances, activities, and community connection.

Fortuna High’s Folklórico dancers performed several traditional dances for the crowd. The women danced in colorful traditional dresses, using the movement of their skirts as part of the performance, while the men wore black pants with embroidered white shirts.

Through each dance, the students had an opportunity to share cultural traditions with the larger Humboldt County community while representing Fortuna High beyond campus.

The performance was a great example of the many ways Fortuna Huskies share their talents, traditions, and creativity with our local community.
