As part of the final project in Photo & Design, students were challenged to create a film based on the theme “Coming of Age.” Exchange student Danupol (Seoul) Petkasen of Thailand responded with a heartfelt and beautifully edited montage that captures the emotions, friendships, and memories of senior year at Fortuna High.

Using a vintage video camera, Seoul spent several days documenting moments that defined his experience as a student. The film includes footage from the Senior Picnic, Senior Ball & Banquet, classrooms and teachers around campus, and countless moments shared with friends during the final weeks of school.

The result is a nostalgic and emotional look at a chapter of life that is quickly coming to a close. Through thoughtful editing, carefully selected shots, and strong storytelling, the film reflects on the excitement, uncertainty, friendships, and growth that come with the transition from high school into adulthood.

The video serves as an excellent example of what is possible when strong storytelling is paired with intentional cinematography and editing. More than a collection of clips, it becomes a visual time capsule of senior year and the memories that make it unforgettable.
