🐾 Fortuna High Celebrates Fall Sports at Second Rally of the Year

The Fortuna Huskies packed Damon Gym for the second rally of the 2026–27 school year, celebrating fall athletics, recognizing students, playing a few ridiculous games, and getting the first look at this year’s Homecoming theme.

The rally started before students even reached Bob Orr Court. The Fortuna High Band marched across campus, leading students toward the gym and bringing plenty of noise along the way. As students entered, they were greeted by JV and Varsity Cheer and ASB Leadership waving blue, white, and silver pom-poms.

Once everyone was inside, the spotlight turned to two of Fortuna High’s fall programs. Members of the JV and Varsity Football teams were introduced to the student body, while JV and Varsity Football Cheer each took the floor for their own routines.

ASB Leadership kept things moving with games and competitions throughout the rally. Students took part in a rapid fashion show and tried their luck jumping over a pool noodle, while a few Fortuna High assistant football coaches put on helmets and became targets in a challenge to knock water bottles off the tops of their heads.

The rally also took time to recognize Huskies doing great things around campus. Teachers from each department presented Student of the Month awards, and some of Fortuna High’s top Minga point earners walked away with special prizes.

🎭 A Musical Homecoming

One of the biggest announcements of the rally came when ASB Leadership revealed the theme for Homecoming 2026: β€œA Musical Homecoming!”

Each class will be taking inspiration from a different genre of musicals for its individual Homecoming theme, setting the stage for class competitions, decorations, floats, and plenty more as Fortuna High gets ready for Homecoming.

From the band marching across campus to cheer performances, football, games, awards, and the big Homecoming reveal, the second rally brought the Fortuna Huskies together for another afternoon of school spirit on Bob Orr Court.
