August 27, 2026 β’ Husky Field
The Fortuna High Class of 2027 started their senior year together with one of Fortuna Highβs favorite traditions β Senior Sunrise.
Bright and early at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, seniors gathered on Husky Field to watch the sun come up together and celebrate the beginning of their final year at Fortuna High.
Students bundled up with blankets as they settled onto the field, enjoying donuts and hot chocolate while waiting for the morning sky to brighten. Seniors also posed for photos with decorative frames they had created for the occasion, making plenty of memories with friends as the Class of 2027 kicked off its final year together.
Senior Sunrise marks the beginning of a year filled with lasts β the last first day, the last Homecoming, the last rallies, the last games, and eventually graduation. For one early morning, though, it was simply a chance for the Fortuna Huskies Class of 2027 to slow down, spend time together, and watch a new day begin.
