Humboldt County Fair β’ Photos by Fortuna High Photo & Design
The 2026 Junior Livestock Auction brought the Humboldt County Fair to a close with a celebration of months of hard work by young people from throughout our community.
On the final day of the fair, students participating through FFA, 4-H, and as independent exhibitors brought their livestock projects to auction, where local businesses, families, and community members showed their support by purchasing animals and investing directly in the students who raised them.
For many exhibitors, the auction represents the culmination of countless hours spent feeding, caring for, training, and preparing their animals. The money earned through the auction rewards that dedication while helping students save for future projects, education, and other goals.
Fortuna High Photo & Design donated photography coverage during the auction, focusing primarily on swine exhibitors and their buyers, along with a few of the rabbit and turkey projects. After each purchase, students and buyers gathered for a photograph together to document the people and businesses supporting our local youth.
