The Fortuna High Photo & Design program proudly presents Juan Hullius, an original student short film filled with absurd humor, strange philosophy, and unpredictable storytelling.
The film begins with two friends having a casual conversation in a park when they are approached by the mysterious and eccentric Juan Hullius the Sixth. What follows is a bizarre series of conversations, strange observations about the universe, and increasingly ridiculous situations that leave both the characters and the audience questioning what is real and what is simply part of Juan Hullius’ peculiar worldview.
Inspired by surreal comedy and offbeat character-driven storytelling, the project allowed students to explore a different style of filmmaking focused on dialogue, performance, timing, and humor. The result is a short film that embraces the weird and celebrates creativity.
Students were involved in every stage of production, including:
- Acting
- Directing
- Cinematography
- Editing
- Audio recording
- Production planning
- Story development
The project served as a hands-on learning experience in screenwriting, character performance, continuity, and collaborative filmmaking.
