Fortuna High faced a familiar opponent in McKinleyville on Oct. 7th, 2025 and while this matchup wasn’t the blowout seen in their previous meeting, the Huskies once again found a way to come out on top. In a tightly contested game, Fortuna edged out the Panthers 1–0, earning an important win for the season.
The match remained scoreless at halftime, with both teams battling through a physical and defensive first half. After the break, Fortuna found another gear, controlling possession and creating stronger offensive opportunities. That second-half push paid off with the game’s lone goal, sealing the victory for the Huskies.
This win marked Fortuna’s second straight victory, improving their overall record to 3–2–2. Those recent wins have been fueled by offensive momentum, with the Huskies scoring eight goals across their last two matches.
