Fortuna High School β’ Photos by Fortuna High Photo & Design
In the days leading up to Homecoming, creativity came alive after school as students gathered to build their class parade floats. Classmates worked side by side painting, sculpting, cutting, gluing, and assembling the designs that would later roll down Main Street during the Homecoming Parade.
Float building is one of the most collaborative traditions of Homecoming week. Students brought their ideas to life with the help of parents, teachers, and volunteers, turning simple materials into colorful displays of school spirit. From sketching concepts to adding the final coats of paint, every float reflected teamwork, creativity, and class pride.
These after-school work sessions are where the magic happensβlong before the crowds see the finished floats in the parade.
