This week’s Husky Howler Video Bulletin is now live! As we head into the final week of February — and with Progress Reports coming out this week — here are the latest updates, reminders, and highlights from around Fortuna High.

Student News

Yearbooks are still available for purchase for $76. If you’re planning to buy one, be sure to visit FortunaHigh.com/yearbook for full ordering details.

Students who missed school photos earlier this year will have one final opportunity to be included in the yearbook. Make-up photos will be taken in Room AB3 on Thursday, March 12th, and will be available during Advisory, Lunch, and After School. This is the last chance to be featured in the 2025 Fortuna High Yearbook. Questions can be directed to Mr. Rios in AB3 or by emailing srios@fuhsdistrict.net.

Students interested in showcasing their heritage are encouraged to participate in this year’s Multicultural Ceremony, taking place on May 22nd, 2026. Those interested in sharing their culture through music, dance, poetry, or performance should see Mrs. Gomez in the office by March 19th.


Detention & Tutoring This Week

Lunch and after-school detention opportunities are available throughout the week in rooms B-3, CA-8, Cafe 1, and AG, depending on the day. Before-school detention will also be offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings in Room E-3.

Academic support is available through:

  • Lunch Math Tutoring in Room E-2 with Ms. Valdez on Tuesday
  • Additional Math Support in Room E-4 with Mr. Couch on Thursday
  • After-School Tutoring in the Library with Ms. Day on Tuesday
  • After-School Tutoring in Room F-6 with Mrs. Dixon on Wednesday and Thursday

Saturday School will be held on February 28th from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Room B-3 with Mr. Richardson.


Club News

Clubs continue to meet across campus this week with opportunities for students to get involved.

  • Garden Club meets Monday after school in the garden between F Building and the Metal Shop.
  • Interact Club meets Monday at lunch in AB-3.
  • Dungeons & Dragons Club meets Tuesday after school in AB-3 with Mr. Rios.
  • BSU meets Tuesday at lunch in Room B-3.

On Thursday:

  • Future Leaders in Education Club meets at lunch.
  • FCA meets in CA-2 for Pizza with a Pastor.
  • Creeks Club Recycling continues after school on the senior lawn.
  • MECHA Club meets at lunch in CA-4.
  • GSA Club meets at lunch in the Wellness Center.

Friday meetings include:

  • Cert Club
  • Theatre Club in CA-6
  • Book Club in CA-7

Creeks Club will also host a campus clean-up Friday after school. Students do not need to be club members to participate. Meet on the senior lawn for a 30-minute cleanup.


Husky Sports Update

The Fortuna Varsity Girls Basketball team competed in postseason play on February 18th, facing Moreau Catholic High School.

In exciting news, the Fortuna Girls Wrestling Team captured the H-DNL Championship — a historic accomplishment for the program.

As winter sports begin to wrap up, Spring Sports are now officially underway, and students interested in participating are encouraged to check in with coaches and ensure all eligibility requirements are complete.


Husky Eats

For breakfast this week, Monday features pancakes, followed by French toast on Tuesday. Wednesday brings chicken and waffles, Thursday offers breakfast pizza, and Friday wraps up the week with a ham and cheese bagel. Each morning also includes PB&J sandwiches, parfaits, and cereal.

Lunch options include a bean and cheese burrito or tamale on Monday, meatball subs on Tuesday, taco bowls on Wednesday, sloppy joes on Thursday, and cheese or pepperoni pizza on Friday. All lunches are served with vegetables, fruit, milk, and access to the salad bar.
