Fortuna High kicked off Homecoming festivities with the annual Homecoming Parade, filling Main Street in Fortuna with school spirit, music, and community pride on Friday, October 3rd.
The parade was led by the Fortuna High Band, setting the pace as they marched through downtown. Following behind were the football teams, cheerleaders, boys cheer, Homecoming Royalty, and the Grand Marshal, along with students proudly carrying banners and representing their classes.
Those class banners were designed, produced, and printed by our AMP (Art, Media, Production) program, a newer addition to the Photo & Design AME CTE pathway. This real-world project gave AMP students hands-on experience creating large-format graphics used in a major school and community event.
Each class showcased creativity and teamwork through their Homecoming parade floats, while some participants marched and others rode in classic cars and decorated vehicles. The event ran smoothly thanks to the support and supervision of the Fortuna Police Department and City of Fortuna staff, helping keep students and spectators safe throughout the route.
From music echoing through downtown to cheers lining the sidewalks, the Homecoming Parade once again brought together students, families, alumni, and the greater Fortuna community.
