🎥 Husky Howler Weekly Bulletin — December 8–12, 2025

📘 Yearbook Updates & Senior Deadlines

Yearbooks are now $76, and each purchase includes two free custom pages. Seniors, make sure to meet your upcoming deadlines:

  • Senior Photos & Quotes Due: March 1
  • Custom Pages & Baby Ads Due: April 5

Senior photos and names should be emailed to srios@fuhsdistrict.net. Photos will appear in the Senior Submitted section, and senior quotes will be printed under each formal portrait.

🥫 Humboldt Holiday Food Drive

The Humboldt Holiday Food Drive continues through December 11th. Students are encouraged to bring canned goods and non-perishable food items to their Advisory classes. Leadership students have delivered collection boxes to teachers and will continue collecting and weighing donations weekly.

The Advisory class that donates the most pounds of food wins free tickets to the Semi-Formal Dance this January.


🎁 Holiday Grams

Holiday Grams are available now! Leadership is selling them during break from December 2nd–12th outside of CA-9. Students and staff can send a festive note to anyone on campus for $1 each. Deliveries will happen the week of December 15th.


🌱 Club News — December 8–12

Here’s what’s happening in clubs this week at Fortuna High:

  • Garden Club meets Monday after school from 3:25–4:25 in the garden area behind F Building.
  • Interact Club meets Monday at lunch in AB-3.
  • Dungeons & Dragons Club gathers Tuesday after school in AB-3 with Mr. Rios.
  • BSU meets every other Tuesday at lunch in B-3.
  • On Thursday:
    • FCA meets in CA-2 for Pizza with a Pastor.
    • Creeks Club meets for recycling after school on the senior lawn (rain or shine). Their next lunch meeting is December 11th in F-5.
    • MECHA Club meets at lunch in CA-4.
    • GSA meets at lunch in the Wellness Center (2nd & 4th Thursdays).
  • On Friday:
    • Cert Club meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays.
    • Theatre Club meets at lunch in CA-6.
    • Book Club meets at lunch in CA-7 (2nd & 4th Fridays).
    • Creeks Club also hosts a campus clean-up right after school on the senior lawn — open to all students and usually finished in about 30 minutes.

🏀 Husky Sports Highlights

It was a busy week for Husky athletics!

Boys Basketball

  • Win vs Hayfork: 62–58
  • Loss vs Cosumnes Oaks: 50–61 (McKinleyville Tournament)
  • Loss vs Las Plumas: 43–50 (McKinleyville Tournament)
  • Win vs West Valley: 52–49

A solid mix of battles and bounce-backs — great work, Huskies!

Girls Basketball

  • Win vs Hayfork: 60–29
  • Loss vs Durham: 48–56 (Colusa Tournament)
  • Win vs Pierce: 42–16 (Jim Ernst Invitational)

A strong week overall for the Lady Huskies!


🍽️ Husky Eats — December 8–12

Here’s what’s on the menu this week:

Monday: Chicken Strips with chips, fries, side salad, and mixed fruit
Tuesday: Chicken Fajitas with black beans, corn, and peaches
Wednesday: Sub Sandwich with broccoli salad, carrots, celery, and pears
Thursday: Pasta Bar with cooked carrots, cooked broccoli, and mixed fruit
Friday: Chinese Chicken Salad with chips, carrots, celery, and peaches

Breakfast options vary daily, including Pancake Puffs, Cinnamon Rolls, Sausage Biscuits, Waffles, and Sausage & Egg Muffins, along with daily PB&J or meat sandwiches, parfaits, and cereal.
