Welcome back from break, Huskies! Below is this week’s round-up of school news, reminders, and campus happenings. You can watch the full Husky Howler video bulletin above, or read the full breakdown below.


📘 Yearbook & Senior Deadlines

Yearbooks for the 2025–26 school year are now $76. Each book comes with two free custom pages, and seniors still have upcoming deadlines to keep in mind:

  • Senior Photos & Quotes: Due March 1
  • Custom Pages & Baby Ads: Due April 5

Seniors should email their portraits and full name to srios@fuhsdistrict.net. Photos will appear in the Senior Submitted section, and senior quotes will be printed beneath each student’s formal photo.

🥫 Humboldt Holiday Food Drive

The annual Humboldt Holiday Food Drive continues through December 11.
Students are encouraged to bring canned goods and non-perishable items to their Advisory classes. Leadership will drop off collection boxes to teachers this week and will pick up donations weekly for weighing.

The Advisory class with the highest total food weight will win free tickets to the Semi-Formal Dance in January. Thank you for helping support families in our community this holiday season.


📚 Clubs & Activities This Week

Here’s what’s happening around campus:

  • Garden Club meets Monday after school from 3:25–4:25 in the garden between F Building and the Metal Shop.
  • Interact Club meets Monday during lunch in AB-3.
  • Dungeons & Dragons Club meets Tuesday after school in AB-3.
  • BSU meets every other Tuesday at lunch in B-3.
  • FCA – Fellowship of Christian Athletes meets Thursday in CA-2 for pizza with a pastor.
  • Creeks Club Recycling meets Thursday after school to help with campus recycling efforts.
  • MECHA Club meets Thursday at lunch in CA-4.
  • GSA meets Thursday at lunch in the Wellness Center (2nd & 4th Thursdays).
  • CERT Club meets Friday (2nd & 4th Fridays).
  • Theatre Club meets Friday at lunch in CA-6.
  • Book Club meets Friday at lunch in CA-7 (2nd & 4th Fridays).
  • Creeks Club Campus Cleanup happens Friday after school—meet on the senior lawn for a quick 30-minute cleanup.
  • Chemistry Club will conduct an experiment after school on Friday.

🏈 Husky Sports Update

Here’s how the Huskies performed this week:

  • Varsity Boys Football wrapped their season at the NCS Championships Division 6, falling 21–59 to Bishop O’Dowd on November 29. An outstanding season—great job, Huskies!
  • Cross Country saw a major milestone at Championships:
    • Juan Ornelas placed 12th in the CIF North Coast Section Championships Boys Division 4 with a PR of 16:19.87, qualifying for State.
    • Excellent job to the entire team for a strong season.
  • Varsity Boys Basketball played three games this week:
    • Loss to Fort Bragg (49–56)
    • Loss to Cloverdale (45–50)
    • Loss to Ukiah (60–70)
  • Varsity Girls Basketball secured a strong win over Kelseyville, 57–29.

🍽️ Husky Eats — December 1–5

Breakfast and lunch menus for the week:

Breakfast: pancakes, French toast, chicken & waffles, breakfast pizza, and ham & cheese bagels, plus daily PB&J or meat sandwiches, parfaits, and cereal.

Lunch:

  • Monday: Cheese/Pepperoni Pizza
  • Tuesday: Meatball Subs
  • Wednesday: Taco Bowl
  • Thursday: Sloppy Joes
  • Friday: Bean & Cheese Burrito or Tamale

Each day includes vegetables, fruit, and milk.
