Our Photo & Design and AMP (Art, Media, Production) students got a thrilling behind-the-scenes look at the world of haunted attractions during a field trip to Griffin Loch’s Scream-A-Torium Scaregrounds — an electrifying Halloween festival full of lights, sound, story, and scares!
Students explored how creative professionals combine experiential storytelling, lighting, AV production, and set design to bring haunted mazes to life. They also learned about the history of the Scaregrounds and what it takes to operate such a large-scale event.
👻 The Haunted Mazes
Slaughterhouse: Navigate your way through a blood-soaked barn filled with chainsaw-wielding maniacs.
Sanitarian: Encounter the sinister terror of escaped psychopaths and the deranged.
Delirium: Step into a surreal maze of mind-bending illusions where reality twists in vivid color.
📸 Capturing the Fear
Later, a smaller group of competitive photographers returned during showtime to capture the mazes in action — photographing actors, lighting effects, and behind-the-scenes moments as the haunts came to life.
