It’s officially Halloweek at Fortuna High! From spirited dress-up days to fun photo ops, tutoring, sports wins, and all things Husky pride, here’s everything happening around campus this week. Watch the full video bulletin above, or scroll down for the highlights!

🎃 Halloweek Dress-Up Days

Show your school spirit and creativity all week long! Here are the themed dress-up days for Halloweek:

Monday, Oct. 27: Halloween PJ Day
Tuesday, Oct. 28: Twin Day — match with a friend!
Wednesday, Oct. 29: Addams Day — wear all black
Thursday, Oct. 30: Fall Festive Mom & Flannel Dad
Friday, Oct. 31: Halloween Costumes (school dress code applies)

📸 Photo & Design Studio Open All Week

The Photo & Design class is opening the photo studio every day of Halloweek for students and staff to capture their dress-up looks!

Students can visit the studio during any period — just not during the first or last 10 minutes of class. Teachers can issue a Minga hall pass for up to 25 minutes so students can get their photos taken and return to class. The team will also be calling classrooms and may stop by to invite dressed-up students for portraits.

And yes — teachers are welcome too!

Wednesday & Thursday After School: Room F-6 with Sarah Dixon
Thursday Lunch: Math tutoring in E-4 with Mr. Couch

🌱 Club News

Monday:

Garden Club meets after school from 3:25–4:25 in the Garden between F Building and the Metal Shop.
Interact Club meets at lunch in AB-3 with Mr. Rios.

Tuesday:

Dungeons & Dragons Club meets after school in AB-3 with Mr. Rios.
BSU meets every other Tuesday at lunch in B-3.

Thursday:

FCA meets at lunch in CA-2 for Pizza with a Pastor.
Mecha Club meets at lunch in CA-4.
GSA Club meets at lunch in the Wellness Center.
Creeks Club meets in F-5 at lunch (2nd & 4th Thursdays) and leads recycling after school.

Friday:

Cert Club meets as usual.
Theatre Club meets at lunch in CA-6 with Miss Olson.
Book Club meets every 2nd and 4th Friday at lunch in CA-7 with Miss Dorman.
Creeks Club hosts a campus clean-up after school on the senior lawn — open to all students!

🏆 Husky Sports Recap

It was another strong week for Fortuna High athletics!

Football: The Varsity Huskies scored a big win against Del Norte, finishing 28–14 on Friday night.
Boys Soccer: Defeated Eureka 1–0 on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Girls Soccer: Battled hard against Eureka but fell short, 3–0.
Volleyball: Lost to Quincy on Oct. 18, 0–2.
Cross Country:
- Mens Varsity 5K: 1st place – Juan Ornelas (16:02, PR)
- Womens Varsity 5K: 2nd – Madison Ruiz (21:55, PR), 4th – Alexa McCall (22:16)
Wrestling: Boys interested in wrestling should check in with Coach Stockdale (F-2) if they missed the meeting on Oct. 22.

Way to go, Huskies — great performances all around! 💪🐾

Wednesday – Chicken Parmesan
Thursday – Grilled Cheese
Friday – Baked Potato Bar

Each meal includes fruits, vegetables, milk, and salad bar access.

📰 Other Announcements

International Travel Club: Meeting Tuesday at lunch in Rooms C4/5. Bring your lunch!
Parking Reminder: Students must have a parking permit and park only in the 12th Street Student Lot. Police will issue citations for parking without a permit or in the wrong area.
Yearbooks: On sale for $69 until October 30th. Visit fortunahigh.com/yearbook to order before prices go up.
Pink Wednesdays: Wear pink every Wednesday in October to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
