Welcome back Huskies! 🐾 This week’s bulletin is packed with updates on clubs, tutoring, sports, detention schedules, and what’s on the menu in Husky Eats. Watch the video above, or read the full recap below.
🌱 Club News
- Monday: Garden Club meets after school from 3:25 to 4:25 in the garden between F Building and the Metal Shop. Interact Club will not meet today but will return next Monday, October 20th, at lunch in AB-3 with Mr. Rios.
- Tuesday: Dungeons & Dragons Club meets after school in AB-3 with Mr. Rios. BSU also meets at lunch in B-3.
- Wednesday: No clubs meet.
- Thursday: FCA meets at lunch in CA-2 for Pizza with a Pastor. Mecha Club meets at lunch in CA-4, and GSA gathers in the Wellness Center. Creeks Club meets as well, leading recycling after school.
- Friday: Cert Club meets as usual. Theatre Club meets at lunch in CA-6 with Miss Olson. Book Club is canceled today but will return on the 2nd and 4th Fridays at lunch in CA-7 with Miss Dorman. Creeks Club is also hosting a campus clean-up right after school on the senior lawn. Anyone can join, and it only takes about 30 minutes.
📚 Tutoring & Reminders
- Tutoring Monday: Sarah Dixon offers after-school tutoring in Room F-6. Be sure to bring work with you.
- Tutoring Tuesday: Math help is available with Miss Valdez at lunch in E-2, and after school tutoring with Miss Day is in the library.
- Tutoring Thursday: Math tutoring with Mr. Couch during lunch in Room E-4.
- Yearbooks: Yearbooks are on sale now for $69 through October 30th. After that, the price increases. Order online at fortunahigh.com.
- Pink Wednesdays: Wear pink on Wednesdays during October to support Breast Cancer Awareness.
- FFA Meeting: The October FFA meeting is Wednesday, October 15th, at 7 PM in the Theater. Scan in at the door for an FFA activity, don’t forget your passports, and show up in your best Halloween costume for the dress-up contest.

🏆 Husky Sports Recap
- Boys Soccer: Beat South Fork on October 8th with a huge 17–1 win. Tied Del Norte on October 11th, 3–3.
- Girls Soccer: Beat McKinleyville 1–0 on October 7th.
- Cross Country: Juan Ornelas placed 2nd in the Varsity Boys 5K with a time of 16:47. Alexa McCall placed 3rd in the Varsity Girls 5K with a time of 23:19.
- Volleyball: Lost to Del Norte on October 7th, 1–3, and to Ferndale on October 8th, 1–3.
- Football: The Varsity Huskies played St. Bernard’s on October 11th, falling short 22–26.

- Wednesday – French Toast
- Thursday – Pancake Puffs
- Friday – Sausage & Egg Muffin
Daily options also include PB&J sandwiches, parfaits, and cereal.
Lunch
- Monday – Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza
- Tuesday – Sloppy Joes
- Wednesday – Beefy Mac
- Thursday – Chicken Pot Pie
- Friday – Sub Sandwich
All meals come with vegetables, fruit, milk, and the salad bar.
