Welcome back, Huskies! 🐾 This week’s bulletin is full of Homecoming highlights, reminders, club updates, detention schedules, sports recaps, and of course, Husky Eats. You can watch the full video above, or read the full rundown below.
👑 Homecoming Highlights
Congratulations to this year’s Homecoming Royal Court!

The Seniors defeated the Juniors in the Powderpuff Football Game by a score of 20–7 and also took first place in the Boys Cheer competition. The Sophomores stole the show in the Lip Sync Contest with their Hollywood routine, earning first place. Seniors finished second, Freshmen third, and Juniors fourth.
Thank you to Erick and Brida for lighting the Flaming F, and to everyone who created incredible lighted floats. The float results were:

- 2nd – Sophomores
- 1st – Seniors
📚 Student News & Reminders
- Yearbooks are now on sale for $69 until October 30th. Prices increase after that. Order at fortunahigh.com.
- Tutoring: Math tutoring is available with Mr. Couch every Thursday at lunch in E-4. Bring your lunch, questions, and assignments.
- Seniors: Jim will be on campus Tuesday, October 7th, at 8 AM to answer questions about class rings and cap and gowns. He’ll also be picking up more orders. Deadlines come every month, so don’t miss out. Orders can also be made at ultimategrad.com.
🌱 Club News
- Monday: Garden Club (after school in the garden between F Building and the Metal Shop) and Interact Club (lunch in AB-3 with Mr. Rios).
- Tuesday: Dungeons & Dragons Club (after school in AB-3 with Mr. Rios) and BSU (lunch in B-3, every other Tuesday).
- Wednesday: No clubs meet.
- Thursday: FCA (lunch in CA-2, Pizza with a Pastor), Creeks Club (lunch in F-5 + recycling after school), Mecha Club (lunch in CA-4), GSA (lunch in the Wellness Center), and Skills USA/Husky Skills Club (lunch in Culinary — pizza provided).
- Friday: Cert Club (2nd and 4th Fridays), Theatre Club (lunch in CA-6 with Miss Olson), and Book Club (lunch in CA-7 with Miss Dorman).

🏆 Husky Sports Recap
- Varsity Football: Huskies won their Homecoming game on October 3rd against Del Norte, 32–20.
- Boys Soccer: Beat Eureka 5–4 on October 1st, then lost to Arcata 1–3 on October 4th.
- Girls Soccer: Tied Eureka 0–0 on October 1st, then defeated South Fork 2–1 on October 4th.
- Volleyball: Lost to Eureka 0–3 on September 30th.
- Cross Country: Juan Ornelas placed 4th in Varsity Boys with a time of 17:49. In the Girls Open, Alexa McCall placed 10th at 24:01, followed by Brida Lester at 24:06, and Elizabeth Stevens at 24:10 with a personal record.
Reminder: Student-athletes interested in playing Girls’ Basketball must attend the mandatory sign-up meeting on Friday, October 10th at lunch in Room D6. Information about the season and tryouts will be shared, and fundraising paperwork and money are due that day.
